Join the Friends

To become a Friend is to join a diverse group of people supporting the aims and objectives of the RAAF Museum, dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage and traditions of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force.

Active Members

The Friends' active members play a vital role in providing assistance to the museum staff in carrying out various duties. These include acting as Host Officers for the museum's visitors, assisting the museum's research staff or drawing on previous trade training to participate in restoration and maintenance work.

Active membership is conditional on the completion of at least 10 voluntary assistance days to the RAAF Museum over a 12 month period.

Supporting Members

In today's busy society not everybody has the time or desire to become an active member. So they elect to support the ideals and activities of the Friends through an annual financial subscription that helps fund the activities of the Friends and the museum ensuring that the RAAF Museum continues to be a world class aviation museum.

Benefits

- Membership Card

Identifies you as a Friend. A current membership card entitles you to a 15% discount at the RAAF Museum Shop and entry to RAAF Museum special events.

- RAAF Museum Calendar

Each year the RAAF Museum produces a limited number of full colour calendars. These depict various items and or aircraft held in the collection. As a member of the Friends of the RAAF Museum you will receive one of these magnificent calendars.

- Aerogram Newsletter

Four times a year you will receive a copy of Aerogram, the official magazine of the Friends. With contributions by Friends members and RAAF Museum staff it keeps you informed of what is happening around the Museum as well as containing other interesting articles.

Membership Fees

• All members pay an initial joining fee of $AU55.
• Supporting members pay an annual fee of $AU55.
• Upon qualification as an Active member the annual rate is reduced to $AU25.
