Inaugural George Merz Memorial Lecture

The inaugural George Merz Memorial Lecture was held on Friday August 28 in the Officers' Mess of RAAF Williams - Laverton. Presented by Friends' Secretary Mr Keith Gaff, the lecture covered the history and development of the North American P-51 Mustang and its variant.The lecture was attended by over 100 guests, with RAAF command represented by AIRCDRE Ken Watson, commander Air Training Group. Guest lecturers for the night were Mr Bob Eastgate, owner and operator of P-51 Mustang VH-BOB and Mr Geoff Goodall, editor of the Warbirds Directory and Air Traffic Controller extraoridnaire.
